My old person trait is that I think 'ghosting' is completely unacceptable and you owe the other person a face-to-face conversation.
a relationship is a voluntary situation
Except if you're standing next to me in the supermarket. Or at the bus stop. Or sitting near me in a restaurant. Or at the doctors office and so on. And in all of these situations, I expect common courtesy from you. Or I consider you as an asshole.
