He loved his job. Driving a train had been his dream ever since he was a child. He loved to make the train go as fast as possible. Unfortunately, one day he was a little too reckless and caused a crash. He made it out, but a single person died. Well, needless to say, he went to court over this incident. He was found guilty, and was sentenced to death by electrocution. When the day of the execution came, he requested a single banana as his last meal. After eating the banana, he was strapped into the electric chair. The switch was flown, sparks flew, and smoke filled the air - but nothing happened. The man was perfectly fine. Well, at the time, there was an old Bulgarian law that said a failed execution was a sign of divine intervention, so the man was allowed to go free. Somehow, he managed to get his old job back driving the train. Having not learned his lesson at all, he went right back to driving the train with reckless abandon. Once again, he caused a train to crash, this time killing two people. The trial went much the same as the first, resulting in a sentence of execution. For his final meal, the man requested two bananas. After eating the bananas, he was strapped into the electric chair. The switch was thrown, sparks flew, smoke filled the room - and the man was once again unharmed. Well, this of course meant that he was free to go. And once again, he somehow managed to get his old job back. To what should have been the surprise of no one, he crashed yet another train and killed three people. And so he once again found himself being sentenced to death. On the day of his execution, he requested his final meal: three bananas. "You know what? No," said the executioner. "I've had it with you and your stupid bananas and walking out of here unharmed. I'm not giving you a thing to eat; we're strapping you in and doing this now." Well, it was against protocol, but the man was strapped in to the electric chair without a last meal. The switch was pulled, sparks flew, smoke filled the room - and the man was still unharmed. The executioner was speechless. The man looked at the executioner and said, "Oh, the bananas had nothing to do with it. I'm just a bad conductor. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 1 child comment load more comments (1 reply) [β] SnipingNinja@slrpnk.net 2 points 3 years ago* This comment has the same colour as the last one or the colour is not visible on the screen at least @ljdawson@lemmy.world permalink fedilink source parent [β] som@lemm.ee 3 points 3 years ago (26 children) Almost there permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 26 child comments replies: [β] 18107@aussie.zone 2 points 3 years ago (25 children) It makes a pretty rainbow. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 25 child comments replies: [β] sqibkw@lemmy.world 3 points 3 years ago (24 children) Had to go landscape mode to reach this point permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 24 child comments replies: [β] Zeshade@lemmy.world 1 point 3 years ago (23 children) Hello I'm using Connect am I allowed here? permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 23 child comments replies: [β] kense@lmmy.dk 1 point 3 years ago (22 children) A friend of the rainbow is a friend of the world permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 22 child comments replies: [β] shashi154263@lemmy.world 1 point 3 years ago (21 children) Here's my contribution to this thread. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 21 child comments replies: [β] Snoopey@lemmy.world 1 point 3 years ago (18 children) Landscape saved me from infinite scrolling permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 18 child comments replies: [β] I_Fart_Glitter@lemmy.world 1 point 3 years ago (17 children) Did it though? permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 17 child comments replies: [β] kattenluik@feddit.nl 2 points 3 years ago (16 children) Landscaping more rainbow down below. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 16 child comments replies: [β] RandomVideos@programming.dev 1 point 3 years ago (15 children) It is possible to read the replies by opening them in a browser or by replying to them permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 15 child comments replies: [β] Xavier@lemmy.ca 2 points 3 years ago (14 children) I am on Sync and there is still some screen space left on my device. π€£ permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 14 child comments replies: [β] kdx@lemmy.world 2 points 3 years ago (13 children) I really like the rainbow in the browser on pc. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 13 child comments replies: [β] zebs@lemmy.world 2 points 3 years ago (12 children) We must dig deeper for more rainbow permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 12 child comments replies: [+] Stovetop@lemmy.world 2 points 3 years ago* (last edited 11 months ago) (11 children) [deleted] permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 11 child comments replies: [β] tigeruppercut@lemmy.zip 2 points 3 years ago This is the one that was a single column of letters on my phone. Well, it was against protocol, but the man was strapped in to the electric chair without a last meal. The switch was pulled, sparks flew, smoke filled the room - and the man was still unharmed. The executioner was speechless. The man looked at the executioner and said, "Oh, the bananas had nothing to do with it. [β] sadbehr@lemmy.nz 4 points 3 years ago (1 child) So there was this man in Bulgaria who drove trains for a living. I'm just a bad conductor. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 1 child comment load more comments (1 reply)
