“Supporters of ‘Medicare for All’ now outnumber opponents by nearly 2-to-1,” according to a new survey of U.S. adults from the Axios-Ipsos American Health Index. “Two-thirds of all survey respondents — and half of Republicans — said the federal government should be willing to spend more tax dollars to lower health care costs for Americans.”

I'd love to have universal healthcare. But the number one hurdle for Medicare for all is the market cap on health insurance companies. 3/4 of a trillion dollars would vanish overnight. It's important to remember that almost all 401k accounts are invested in healthcare. The economic impact would devastate everyone. We need to solve that issue first.

I’d love to have retirement accounts be completely untethered from the stock market. Mixing the two was a huge mistake which basically turned us into a corporatocracy. There are of course people on the boards running those corps - the 1% richest among us. Terrible mistake.
