My answer is that christians weren't in control of the government, otherwise it wouldn't have happened.
However, the immediate counter-argument will point out that power corrupts, even the Church was at some time in its 20 centuries-long history corrupted by the powerful/wealthy, who couldn't care less about meekness, poverty, ...
Now they don't even have a territory left, nor schools or any kind of power. Christian families aren't even allowed to teach their children outside government schools in France. State workers aren't allowed to wear visible religious signs. Etc...

No need to develop, it's just the same usual opposition between a "liberation theology" and a "prosperity gospel", between a focus on the obviousness/message/urgency/future and a focus on the faith/identity/tradition/past.
The far-right clearly does not care about helping those outside our tribe/group, such as ethnic/religious minorities, the poor, foreigners, homeless, marginalized/vulnerable, ... If we had been polytheists for the last thousands of years, then they wouldn't be the kind of people to convert to christianism. They'd laugh at the past importance of a "gentle man", only idealists&losers aren't machiavelians they say, what's one more lie if Hell doesn't exist.
They're in my group though, like non-humans, i still believe as i did back then that it's a matter of finding the right words, of listening to their answers, ...
One day they will be forced to confront better alternatives to the present, the kind in which the whole benefits instead of them, and i will see them unable to spin the arguments in their favor. I live for that day, and i will help in making it happen, one day.

Anyway, nothing new, just one more useless post telling things that everyone agrees with, and without receiving a counter-argument since i'm posting in an echo chamber. It's pointless but whatever

I'm not reading all that (read it; cult-quotes made my eyes glaze over at first glance), because I don't have a point about any of that. My point was that @SnoopSqueak wrote:

The abrahamic faiths are death cults. Can we please denormalize deadly delusion?

Which I do agree with. @geneva_convenience's response was to state the empire's murder spree isn't related to religion, yet @SnoopSqueak never made a comment about that. From the outside it's a reply to something that was never stated nor inferred. It looks like @geneva_convenience responded to the wrong message. The dialogue isn't coherent and when one tries to read what was written as dialogue @geneva_convenience's reply to @SnoopSqueak doesn't make sense. It's an attack against an imaginary stance.

From @geneva_convenience's other replies it looks like it was a knee-jerk reaction to protect religion's status (of being related to 'good') and if that's the case: In Australia the Catholic church harbors and protects the majority of pedophiles in this country whilst bleeding the state of money that should go to public-education. Delusions should not be entertained: all religions are delusions. No part of religion is good--it's the rotting carcass that surrounds any good found in man.

Honestly I don't understand why there's a misunderstanding. @geneva_convenience's response to @SnoopSqueak isn't coherent. That's my only point. I don't think @SnoopSqueak was blaming religion for the empire's violence and I certainly am not. Religion are the drapes in a room--absolutely fucking pointless and interchangeable. My gripe with religion stems not from a perception of importance, but the fact that all the fucking pedos are aligned and protected by the church and that it bleeds money from the state only for that money to end up in the church's war-chests; that every lame or malicious politician in Australia has come from the church; and that my life was fucked up by those cultists. Cults flourish here and do great harm.

In Brisbane, Australia sits a catholic church in the city: underneath is an underground, gated parking lot where the clergy park their luxury cars whilst giving sermons about... "how owning 10 houses will not satisfy you, because that satisfaction can only come from Jesus"... whilst the homeless outside get no attention or help. They're barely tolerated. (There's a housing crisis in Australia by the way.) They'll endlessly suck the Jewish cock too. It is an affront to public decency. That's pretty apt for religion: an affront to common sense and decency.

Ok, I finally began to read your OP (I'm not going to finish): you're a cultist apologist. Yuck.
