We have that system in Sweden as well. In my experience if you add up the total time lost fiddling with the scanner while browsing the store it's usually much more than the time you save during checkout.

    Honestly it scans, beep, next

    It has a screen and you can click a product to remove it (you need to rescan it)

    Other than a time where I could not rescan a product to delete it, it always worked

    Also an important note: you can actual see your total on the PDA, and you can manually check prices one by one

    You don't have idea how many times they put a price and then you scan it and it's different

    (Once I brought home 4x 200g hamburgers for 4 cent )
