for some reason people in the comments got really triggered bc of this meme... i was just saying that when my screen flickers i need to update my Nvidia rtx drivers and the FNAF 3 screen looks kind of like a terminal

How it feels to reboot after a driver update in Linux:

Nix fixes kernel updates? How? I know how it can be done on arch, but it's sort of hack.

If there is a broken kernel, you can just revert to the previous version of the system

Snapshots in general IMO, like say cachyOS + limine + snapper

Snapper creates snapshots when updating, and if you ever get a bad boot, you shut off and pick an earlier snapshot in the initial boot menu. It's one of the options you can pick during the initial setup, if I recall correctly, so you don't need to set it up yourself and risk making mistakes

You can use pacman hooks to backup and then restore modules pre and post kernel upgrade. I've used it for some time, it bothered me so I've started to think about how to make it better (use btrfs features) but in the end just returned to reboot after upgrade scheme.
