Unless you capture yours and everyone elses farts in a jar. Until then, it is in your hair, your clothes, your table, your table utensils, and your food. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 1 child comment replies: [–] calliope@retrolemmy.com 1 point 3 hours ago* The show Mythbusters did this in 2004! The episode is called “Toothbrush Surprise” because they were so surprised when the control toothbrushes away from the bathroom had fecal bacteria right from the start. They talked to a microbiologist, who said fecal coliforms are impossible to avoid. Farting in jars won’t help, it’s already everywhere. Keeping the toothbrush in a different room is provably completely pointless. It’s superstition. Ironically, keeping it in the open in the kitchen is likely worse than keeping it in a cabinet in the bathroom. permalink fedilink source parent [–] Valmond@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 7 hours ago But nobody cares because it doesn't matter outside of a hospital, but if it makes you feel better go ahead, but sincerely no need to panic. permalink fedilink source parent
