He still does. Progressives are winning more and more seats, eventually the DNC will be replaced and be useful brick by brick.

Progressives are winning more and more seats

Can't undersell the amount of progress DSA and its allies have made in the last six years.

But we're talking about half a dozen Congressional seats. A smattering of state and local races. Lots of people who are totally untested and unproven. Lots of people - like El Sayud and Mamdani - who seem more than happy to meet Zionists and bigot reactionaries halfway.

And they're squaring off against legions of ICE goons, corporate drones, and fascist billionaires fully on board with mass extermination of their opponents.

Look at Bo French down in Texas. This is a guy who is advocating a Holocaust of 100M people across the US. He's polling even with Jon Rosenthal, a Democrat who wants to maybe raise taxes on energy companies a little bit.

    the DNC will be replaced

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for it to happen.

Didn't the DNC largely get taken over by progressives already? Which is probably why progressives are sometimes winning primaries now: The DNC aren't ratfucking them anymore.

For those complaining that the DNC not endorsing progressives until after they won the primary -- that's what "not ratfucking the primary" looks like. The DNC is not supposed to play favorites in the primary.

It's going to take a while before there's traction in actual Congress, though, because they take longer to replace. But as soon as you have enough progressives to get actual leverage, you're going to start seeing a lot more happening.

Those progressives you cheer for still uphold the oppressive systems that keep the working class down.

The kind of massive change we'd all like to have happen doesn't come instantly - at least not without massive upheaval and destruction that would waste a LOT of lives.

Sure. Doesn't mean people can't have feelings about it though. The dems have done very little to effectively fight the GOP. Doesn't mean OP won't support them but expressing a little frustration is not undermining anything.

One of the big reason Democrats have lost is that they have this toxic impulse to label any criticism as a Russian or Republican conspiracy. There's a "speak no evil" mindset that pretends that squashing criticism actually helps. Instead it just makes people bitter. The Dems tried the "sit down and shut up" approach in 2024 over Gaza. There's nothing voters hate more than being told they have to shut up about the issues they care about. It sends a crystal-clear message:

We want your votes, not your voices. Sit down, shut up, and do what you're told. If you don't vote for us, the bad cop over there will win.

And the toxic positivity "the more you know" crap is also a trope repeated by Democrats that love losing elections.
