LinuxTV is a Debian-based Linux distribution designed for computers connected to a television. Rather than booting into a conventional desktop environment, it starts with a fullscreen launcher intended to be viewed and controlled from across a room.

Looks okay. KDE Plasma Bigscreen looks better in my opinion. I would love to get away from AppleTV (but also avoid AndroidTV). The problem is a lack of native streaming apps. Running everything through Kodi or as a web app isn’t great.

but i do love kodi so so much though. such a great platform with the ability to be controlled from so many avenues.

if the addons had a bit more attention, it really could be great.

the new arctic skin truly make it better than any steaming service, and if one happens to have media locally, it just can't be beaten (when used with jellyfin/emby/plex)

I am not and never have been a developer. I have it on top of a N100 mini PC with Fedora KDE Plasma. It runs fine, looks good. Just missing those native apps.

I also got KDE with Fedora on a beelink specifically to try big picture six months ago, but the homepage said it wasn't yet for general use, and you had to be a developer to use it. How did you install it?
