My ferret would sometimes sleep in a pose with his belly up, his legs sticking out stiffly, and his front end hanging off the side of his bed in a way that looked rather uncomfortable. I would check that he was alive when I saw him doing that; ferrets are heavy sleepers so I thought he was a goner the first time it happened.
