I imagine many members don't know that much about tax law, the intricacies of the military, or drugs in general. Yet we don't question their qualifications when they pass legislation on those subjects.

Speak for your fucking self. I don't trust our legislature on any of those. These fuckers have been allowing wars that aren't wars, drug laws that target minorities and political undesirables, and have fucked our tax code over the last 50 years to the point where we're currently in another guilded age.

They cannot know everything, no matter how much they pretend. If that is the standard we hold them to, you'll only get braggadocios assholes who will stand for elections.

Honestly, I'd love to see them pretend again, instead of the ignorant braggadocios assholes we have dominating elections now who don't even try to pretend and make everything a culture war.
