Apparently if we can figure out how to fix their kidneys they could live a loooot longer. They accumulate damage and can't fix it and it hard limitd their lifespan. Either they die from kidney disease or some other problem caused by low/medium grade kidney damage for years.

Oh yes.. my brother and his family took in my cat a few years ago. Both their kids grew up with her and they're all inseparable. I fear the day she dies. But until then she'll be loved :)
