In some countries, the biggest appliance makers got into tech or bought by them, so there's not a huge amount of choice there. I'm not sure about SK in particular. Thankfully, dumb fridges are still a thing here in Japan, but I don't know how long that will last given how many of the major brands are also high-tech companies (Panasonic, Sharp, etc.)
