i think spaying generally means completely removing the uterus and ovaries in an animal, and one of the advantages for it is that it protects against a lot of cancers in the pet.
for humans, the eqivalent is the hysterectomy. Or, for everything:
The surgeon may remove your ovaries โ a procedure called oophorectomy โ or leave them in place. The procedure to remove the tubes is called salpingectomy. When you remove the entire uterus, both tubes, and both ovaries, the entire procedure is called a total hysterectomy and bilateral salpingectomy-oophorectomy.
