Belt broke. Not a big deal, it was due. So I ordered the replacement and got my dad to help since taking the deck of is an annoying PITA.

We replaced it, took 20 minutes or so. Go to test it and dad says my blade must be dull as heck. He takes a look and...

Its been nearly two years since I had new mulch blades put on it by a local shop. They put them on goddamn backwards and I didn't notice. I have been beating my grass to death instead of cutting it. Almost 2 years, ughh

Really? Are you not able to install yours upside down? If you do that then the sharpened edge will be on the trailing side. The mower blades I've used would be very obvious that they are upside down, but it is doable.

Nope, literally wouldn't fit. The center of the blade has a shape and the receiving part of the mower deck has a corresponding shape to accept it.

Ooh, lookit Mr. Fancy Mower over here! Haha.

Yea, most mowers I've touched will happily let you put them on upside down. Seems dumb, but also putting them on upside down is a pretty low-effort move. It's pretty obvious when they're the wrong way.
