Nobody except you ever asserted that "most citizens" had guns.

The cope was "every country has citizens with guns", which while it is probably true (most countries allow hunting), nevertheless belies the fact that the US is unique among 'developed' countries in arming itself to the gills in the name of killing each other rather than animals.
