I‘ve been saying this for years.
And I get downranked by economic illiterates for point out that out.
We either fab our chips, or keep getting monopsonied. There‘s no deterring this, no matter what politicians promise.

    To be fair; while the business market will always be lucrative than the direct to consumer one, the current demand is speculative (which is to say the memory that was purchased for data centers that are already 2-4 years behind schedule or have yet to even break ground).

    On top of that the capital to fund it is cyclical and recycled which presents an enormous concentration risk, it is by no means indicative of a healthy market. If we had regulators that weren't lackeys for venture capital then the need for intervention is obvious.

    That being said, we agree, just lamenting the loss of regulatory power that could have prevented this.

    Watch the video. There’s a reason I called this a monopsony, and not a “monopoly.”

    If we had regulators

    They’ll be bought by fabricators, Wall Street existing or not.
