It goes without saying that the ACP isn’t remotely communist or socialist whatsoever.

This kind of begs the question: why did they even bother with the communist branding in the first place? Why not just commit to the alternative right? It doesn’t make much sense to me.

Maybe they took inspiration from the CPK/NSDAP’s strategy of LARPing as socialists for the popular support, but it’s not like communism/socialism are exactly popular in the US.

Or have the proletarian heroes at the ACP managed to gaslit themselves into actually, fully and earnestly believing themselves to be communists?

Thoughts?

Fascists have a history of appealing to the same working class discontent that communists do, then pivoting into maintaining capital instead of challenging its control. They could be feds, they could be out to personally enrich themselves, or they could be like the nazis of old. Or some mixture of it.

They probably have some online followers who are sincere and misguided, but the people running the clownshow are obviously not of honest intention. Else they wouldn't be doing the repeated attempted takeovers of english speaking "left" spaces online. You don't build left power by trying to wreck what little there is of an online western left.

Keep in mind that in the US, the right is already the dominant political power by far. It's not a power struggle between left and right in the way that the democrat/republican dynamic makes it seem. The left exists, but not really in a capacity where it is a distinct political power bloc that can force the right to make concessions. So part of the right's strategy is going to be trying to wreck solidarity/buildup of the left in whatever way they can think of and if that means trying to throw in a wrench into rising sympathy for communism, of course they'll try that.
