Then RxH8+, but unless I'm missing something, king can still move to G5, right? So it's not mate (yet)

    Bishop will be covering that square, because en passant would open up the bishop's path.

    h6 is a dark square, the white player's bishop is a light square bishop.

    Sorry, I was commenting about one step earlier - checkmate happens the moment en passant is played, because black's F pawn is gone and white's E pawn is now at F6, leaving the path open for the bishop.
