This shape is quite essential to get the low power requirements due to aerodynamics.

Without this shape it would likely not be able to reach the cruising speeds it needs for driving on highways etc.

    That's a good point. Hopefully one day they will get to the point where they are better looking, or maybe we will all just get used to something different 🤷‍♂️

    I still think this is a cool thing, even if the style is off-putting to me personally.
