PS: The point here is NOT that poor people shouldn't have kids, it's that no one should be having kids without having the basics of childcare covered, which necessitates widespread systemic, societal, and economic change so that no parent needs to worry about those basics, and kids can grow up in secure, healthy environments. I completely forgot to mention this when I originally posted it, and that's my bad.
Fine argument against people trying to have their 5th kid while barely taking care of nr 1 to 4, but it is bordering criminal to say people should be rich before being allowed (ethically) to have a child. In a proper society, no child is left behind. Housing, food, education are basic human rights, and you're making it sound okay for those things to only be available to wealthy people. Trying to forge late stage capitalism justification.
