Basically 5 companies are holding the US economy above water right now, and if ai collapses, people will pull their investments from those companies to secure their earnings or mitigate the bleed and the full blown economic collapse will be official. That’s the type of thing that takes decades to recover from, and there’s no guarantee you will recover entirely from it. Even more fun fundamentals, that’s also when the same economists who got us in this situation can’t think of any other solution other than converting the US economy back into a war machine economy in order to “save” it.
