Transport noise is now one of the leading environmental cause of illness in Europe, second only to air pollution.

Composting isn't bad, but most ditches exist to manage water. I've dealt with the fallout of shifting water tables and clogged culverts. Maybe find a better place to dump the clippings. Or just start a compost pile. They're not tough, just water and stir it every so often.
