Stop funding the corporate machine. Take back your software, test the build, and help launch the new era of open-source creation
Maybe it is because GIMP has a reputation of being lesser than the professional software, or they think the artist is being cheap for not using commercial options.
One weird thing about the name for me is that the lanyard or boondoggle string that kids do at camp is named gimp in some places and no one around here knows that it is a slur in other places.
