I mean, there's a >0 number of good live-action adaptations of animated shows. I've heard mainly good things about the Netflix One Piece show.

It's apparently an adaptation, not a shot for shot transcription.

Yeah but that's not necessarily a bad thing. You probably wouldn't want a shot-for-shot transcription going from manga to live-action.
