Alternative driver for Windows Mixed Reality VR headsets has been ported to Linux (store.steampowered.com)

The Oasis driver is very well known on Windows, it makes WMR headsets like the HP Reverb G2 work again, after Mixed Reality has been removed from recent versions of Windows. Arguably, it works even better than it ever did before "officially".

Now Oasis is available on Linux as well, even though some features are not quite working with this initial release (like pairing with the internal Bluetooth receivers of the headsets).

That's nice to know! I tried to run it on Fedora but it crashes when the room setup starts. I thought it just wasn't ready on Wayland, but after reading up a bit more this seems to be a problem with mesa on Fedora, because they build it with debug flags enabled which triggers a specific bug other distros don't have.

Oh, the joys of Linux... :)
