I've worked at a facility for kids with a variety of neurological and psychological issues. Their hiring process was uniquely different. Their interview days were done with groups of applicants, who were given a tour of the facility. That way people could actually see what they were getting themselves into. At the end everyone was offered a job, pending a background check and drug test. It was up to the applicants to say no. They literally did hire everyone they could. They did, because it's impossible to tell in advance who would last more than 2 weeks working with those kids. Again your imagination fails. You can't even conceive what it might actually be like when a company actually hires everyone they can. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] Earthwormjim91@lemmy.world 1 point 15 hours ago (1 child) We had two guys with Down syndrome, an active crack head that would run out and smoke crack behind the dumpster during shift, a bunch of teenagers, and an 80 year old. And that was just my shift. McDonald’s literally hires anyone they legally are allowed to. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] Steve@communick.news 1 point 14 hours ago* (last edited 13 hours ago) (1 child) That roster sounds so made up, I'm not sure you've ever been in a McDonald's. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] Earthwormjim91@lemmy.world 1 point 12 hours ago I’m not sure you’ve ever been in a McDonald’s in rural Oklahoma, because that was my entire high school experience working there lol. permalink fedilink source parent
[–] Earthwormjim91@lemmy.world -2 points 1 day ago (1 child) I’m saying I have never ever in my life see anyone pay less than McDonald’s, you illiterate fuck. McDonald’s is the minimum because people would just work at McDonald’s than anywhere else paying less. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] Steve@communick.news 1 point 1 day ago* (1 child) Oh!.... That's even dumber than I thought. McDonald's is the easiest, lowest skill job you can think of. I don't know if you're overestimating other jobs, or underestimating McDonald's. Either way, you may be the most privileged and least imaginative person I've encountered. Congrats! permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] Earthwormjim91@lemmy.world 1 point 15 hours ago (1 child) My first job was McDonald’s when I was 16. There’s a reason they hire literally anyone and everyone they can. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] Steve@communick.news 1 point 15 hours ago (1 child) They certainly do NOT hire everyone they can.
