    Audacity was bought by Muse Group and almost immediately implemented a "don't you rather want to save on our cloud service instead?" pop-up and IIRC telemetry. Tenacity emerged as the most active fork without that shit and they since diverged a lot from Audacity.

    OTOH the resources of Muse Group made this huge rewrite possible. The level of pain between using wxWidgets or dismissing pop-ups is higher for wxWidgets for me.

    Maybe Tenacity is willing to throw away their homegrown developments to start fresh with the new code base. No idea.
