There are a small number of people who already work as much as they want and live their best lives...due in large part to the rest of us not having that opportunity.

There is a significantly larger number of people who are willing to slave away for the faint hope they can join that elite class.

    Most of them do it to avoid a worse fate, not because they aspire to wealth.

    Those arent the people I'm referring to.

    I'd be happy to pay more taxes to have a better social safety net that I expect to need very little at this point in my life. I already live in a country with universal healthcare. Yet there are still people who have no problem giving piles of cash and tax breaks to big business while at the same time complaining about the taxes we spend on social safety nets, voting for things that only help the elites, and maybe barely help those who have just a little more than what the average citizen has, and are just a few bad months from losing all they've gained. They make up about 30% of the population where I live, which is just enough to keep us from doing anything better.
