And somehow, an entire team of engineers gave the approval to make a car that looks like a sorry imitation of a double decker

I think you mean a team of engineers had to make all the actual car bits work inside of that thing that some designer drew and business approved.

The Multipla is likeky the ugliest car ever made, at the same time it is one of the greatest designs ever made. How? Because it was an incredibly functional and innovative car, which is also why it sold despite its looks. It's exterior was not bolted on, it was part of why the interior could work. The car was never designed for the compensating crowd so did not need to impress anyone.

The fat roll absolutely was a bolted on choice, since the mid-life redesign eliminated it. That being said I love the 3-abreast seating, it's a shame we dont get more cars like it.

Something as unique was hardly "bolted on". It would have been easier to just go with the ordinary. The mid-life redesign kept most of it intact, it merely did away with that "unique" flat hood , going for a less noteworthy more streamlined curve.

You sure some bean-pusher didn't just find a few CAD files of previous models, think to themselves, 'This is easy, we can save money by not having designers' then just merged the files without reviewing them and pushed it down the pipe?
