There’s a reason my wife religiously says “get with the times boomer!” If you're not keep up with your kid’s dialect, diction, language, issues, concerns, politics, acts, and feelings, you're not really interested in making changes your parents deceived you to make. Generational abuse stops with us. and if kids want to call us boomers, so be it. It's their language, their future, their lives. I just hope they can welcome me too in the wonders they’ll achieve. If not, so be it too. I did what I could with what I knew. A home in me they have. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [+] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 2 points 14 hours ago (1 child) [removed by mod] permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] alapakala@quokk.au -1 points 14 hours ago (1 child) Buddy, correct your language. Ableism is against community rules. It's one thing to deny language changes every generation, and another to call children that disengage in how you use words “morons.” I want kids to have choice. If they want to use different meanings for words, that is their choice. If you think that is “moronic.” Do not interact with me. See my bio. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 2 points 14 hours ago 🙄 permalink fedilink source parent
