My wife worked in addiction counseling, so she dealt with a lot of homeless people.

No, many people are unaware of all of the help that's available for those who need it. A large part of her day to day was connecting people with the non-addiction related support services they were unaware of.

    "Support services" are not housing. And, yes, there are a lot of "support services" out there, the support largely being someone to talk to as part of society's employment system for white women.
