I have no evidence, but I've heard that, a lot of dolls that are sent back, or dumped or whatever are absolutely destroyed. Like, limbs torn off, obvious knife cuts and burns and whatnot.
On the one hand: Great, do it to a robot, and not a person. IDC.
On the other hand: I can see how that might encourage those proclivities to happen to real people.
Nobody should take my opinion seriously, as I don't know any stats, and I'm not a psychologist, but I'd guess that it can be helpful for some people, bad for others.
