    I've never had revanced last more than a week. Bad luck i suspect. Newpipe->greyjay->brave

    Three seperate active dev teams fighting off the bastards.

    I don't want to use brave, but it's never been down for me, so it's weapon of last resort.

    I am a bit worried that, with Google's upcoming changes, they'll be a walled garden within a year.

    I Just run YouTube via my browser with adblock instead of trying to fiddle with an app. And i have another extension so videos doesn't stop playing when i turn off my screen.

    Brave is just Google but one step removed and a shitty pr team. Brave has no more power to stop Google then you or me. The only upside to brave is you get to enjoy features a little bit longer because brave doesn't update to new versions that remove them.

    Eventually they have to give in just like every other chrome browser. Because brave isn't an actual web browser. It's just a chrome skin with a plugin package.

    This is a bit of an overstatement. Brave has competent software developers - they created their Rust-based content blocker, and kept it as open-source. It’s one of the most powerful blocking mechanisms, often working in places where even the rightfully praised uBlock Origin doesn’t (good examples are in YouTube itself last year when they’ve made a big attempt to stop adblocking by changing the underlying mechanism of how ads are being served in videos).

    They were perfectly capable of developing advanced software before AI coding agents were a thing. They’re skilled and delivering.
