Sidebar, averages sometimes aren't the best way to tell the story. Like crab fishing in the Caribbean? Not so dangerous. Crab fishing in Alaska? More dangerous. Cop in a small town that hasn't had a murder in over 50 years? Not so dangerous. Cop in an area with heavy gang activity and drug sales? More dangerous.

No it's not, on avg the thing that kills most cops is getting run over on the highway. A cop that lives in gangland is still more likely to die by car accident.

You didn't read your own study, it's highlights that police deaths in the line of duty have gone down. This means it's actually gotten SAFER to be a cop. Furthermore, if. You look at all the metrics shootings are the least threatening thing. Literally thier own health lifestyle is what kills them.

Yes it's safer but gunshots are now higher than auto?

Also everyone's "health lifestyle" eventually kills everyone. The more you work the higher the percentage your death will be "on the clock" and therefore an on-the-job death.

    Traffic-related fatalities decreased 27% with 37 deaths in 2023

    47 Firearm Deaths > 37 Auto Death
