Because from where she stood, it was very clear he was the worst possible person in America for the job, and even someone who had absolutely no context should be able to see that. And I still believe that most Americans believe that is true. Less than I hoped, but most. Unfortunately people were sick and tired of playing "lesser evil" and so instead of stopping him, they just stepped back and said "I'm going to pay for this, but I'm not voting for either of them."
That's what they did with Hillary, that's what they did with Harris, and I pray that's the last time America wilfully waterboards itself to let the powers that be know where they're at is not OK. They need communication, they need to believe their feedback is doing something not being tossed out in favour of PACs and donors. They need trustworthy people to believe in that are neither too naive, nor too corrupt to actually do something risky but necessary.
The window is closing though. If the old guard don't smarten up and pay attention, the US is finished. There won't be enough trust left to even hang on by their fingertips as the lunatics riot in the asylum. Might take a while to finish falling, but it will fall. Once you drown a country in lies, there's no bringing it back.
