Our Canadian brothers can throw hardballs just as fast as the US can. Ontario Premiere Rob Ford is already threatening to cut power and mineral shipments. I forsee the upper midwest Governors along with the Northeast and NY's quietly slipping up to Canada to make regional deals separate from Trumps shitshow. NGL, Trump would LOVE for the blue states to be hurt by such a move. Best thing Canada can do is snub Trump and make regional deals with the northern states directly.
