Don't doom. Settle around the sources and streams that are not dry yet and start planting. My land burned down two weeks ago, and the first green blades of couch grass were back a week later. As long as the water runs I will continue to care for the land.
Those used to large scale agriculture have to rethink very fast now, but the same applies. The times of big open fields are over, go plant rows of trees as long as you still can, so they can retain the water.
