Can I get Linux running smoothly on my ROG laptop with an Nvidia GPU? Asus and Nvidia purportedly don't behave well with Linux (hexbear.net)

It's the main reason I haven't tried it yet. As for distros, so far I'm most interested in Pop! OS, but given that it's relatively young I worry about lack of documentation for certain issues I could encounter.

And is there a Linux alternative for Armoury Crate? G-Helper is only available on Windows.

Check for Linux drivers from nvidia and ROG. Most distros work well with most hardware. What issues do you think you'll encounter. I used Pop for years with no major issues. Just switched to Nobara, also no issues.
