VLC started taking 33 seconds to open an MP3 and everyone blamed VLC. Turns out Windows Defender was quarantining its plugin cache, and the same update is breaking a lot more than one video player. Fix at the end.

I love Linux. Because when something is broken on Linux, the answer is a web search or a distro forum post away. When something breaks on Microslop Winblows, however...
