You've kind of blown my mind with this.

I think there's a number of different perspectives that can explain conservatism but this model can explain a lot of behavior.

In particular this part:

Everything that they consider normal and typical from their own limited experience should be the default

    Conservatives also have a very hierarchical-dependent mindset. By that I mean that for them, order and hierarchy are a security blanket their brains simply cannot do without. They literally believe that if a strict hierarchy isn’t maintained, society will collapse. (All those ‘this will cause the fall of civilization!’ claims, like over rock n’ roll, Dungeons and Dragons, and waltzing? That’s where that comes from.)

    That’s the reason why they so sharply reject ‘people are all equal’. It’s also why they tend to get so mad at the LGBTQ+ group, especially trans people; they’re ’not acting like the rules say they should’.
