[–] SolacefromSilence@fedia.io 7 points 1 day ago (2 children) I have to ask, which Battlestar Galactica? I tried to watch the 70's version, but I just couldn't get into it. I've heard that others prefer it, so maybe it comes down to what you saw first. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 4 child comments replies: [–] Wataba@sh.itjust.works 3 points 21 hours ago (2 children) 70's BSG is an acquired taste. You have to be on board with the Buck Rogers style cheese, and the heavy handed Mormon influence (including the rampant amount of old white men in charge). Once you get past that, its light hearted fun in the face of extinction. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 4 child comments replies: [–] EnsignWashout@startrek.website 1 point 16 hours ago The first episode of the 70s BSG had me hooked. Humanity all alone in the universe facing extinction. And....in the second (third?) epsiode they put their feet up in a space pub full of thriving sentient aliens. The tone whiplash was strong. permalink fedilink source parent [–] SolacefromSilence@fedia.io 1 point 20 hours ago I might have to give it another shot, just letting some of it slide to enjoy the whole. permalink fedilink source parent [–] DarkCloud@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago I've never tried the original Battlestar Galactica, so I'll definitely be watching the newer one. permalink fedilink source parent
