Well it's more than that, a core tenant of anarchism is opposition to heirachry. Seeing others as subhuman could not be further from that ideal.

A lot of people seem to think anarchy is just riots and looting. Perhaps this is the issue here.

True, which sucks. All your suffergates and labor union heroes were anarchist. It's decades upon decades of propaganda demonizing legalized equality as essentially rioting. We only have a 5 day work week because of anarchism.
