The "active local content" even here in australia , is often trash on reddit, it still has that murican feel to it. No doubt that varies by location, and subject though. My reddit feed most days is completely empty, it's more for if I want to look something up, or ask a question about something (guaranteed mixed results there of course, but probably no worse than any other platform).
