I'm a Windows sysadmin and I desperately want Microsoft to just make the OS that everybody clearly wants. Actually, they already make the OS that most everyone wants. The LTSC version of Windows 10 and 11 are both eminently usable. They just don't sell it to anyone unless you have an enterprise account and buy the keys in bulk. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 1 child comment replies: [โ] morto@piefed.social 10 points 2 months ago It's funny how people can get a pirated ltsc copy, and it will be better than the legitimate product offered to them permalink fedilink source parent [โ] bizarroland@lemmy.world 7 points 2 months ago (1 child) I am at a high enough position in my company that I could literally force everyone to transition to Mac or Linux. For an organization with 10,000+ staff, this is extremely prohibitive. The time and effort required for retraining alone makes this a non-starter. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 1 child comment replies: [+] bacon_pdp@lemmy.world -1 points 2 months ago [deleted] permalink fedilink source parent
