The name is reminiscent of Goofus and Gallant from Highlights Magazine. I am sure i knew Atomic Mary at one point, but I am drawing a blank. Maybe @m_f@discuss.online or @JohnnyEnzyme@piefed.social might have some ideas. Maybe not from the time, but in a reprint book.
