One of the most insightful comments I've heard, iirc from thecollectress on Instagram (hope I got her username right, it's been a while), is that the emphasis on maintaining a non-confrontational nature is a core component of white supremacist thinking (and by extension, capitalist thinking). That it's more important not to upset anyone than it is to argue for righteousness.
"The obnoxious peace which is the absence of tension, rather than the righteous peace which is the presence of justice" and all that.
