Welcome to /c/tumblr, a place for all your tumblr screenshots and news.
Keep it civil. We're all people here. Be respectful to one another.
No sexism, racism, homophobia, transphobia or any other flavor of bigotry. I should not need to explain this one.
Must be tumblr related. This one is kind of a given.
Try not to repost anything posted within the past month. Beyond that, go for it. Not everyone is on every site all the time.
No unnecessary negativity. Just because you don't like a thing doesn't mean that you need to spend the entire comment section complaining about said thing. Just downvote and move on.

I feel increasingly lost in a world that says it's bad to feel angry, depressed, and anxious all the time when those seem to be perfectly reasonable reactions to things going on around us. To me, it feels less sane to be upbeat and positive.

If you put an animal in a cage which is too small for it, or where it's mistreated, or where it just lacks any enrichment, you don't diagnose it as insane when it starts slamming its head against walls or pacing back and forth. You recognize that the environment is the problem. Humans are animals too, even though we like to pretend otherwise.
You do need to have some dissonance in order to be happy. The unfortunate truth is that we cannot fix everything going on around the world; we just aren’t equipped to handle such information as often as we do anyway (or so I’ve read). I stopped watching or reading most news and focus on my local communities for the sake of my own sanity, focusing on problems I can actually help with.
