[–] kabe@lemmy.world 12 points 1 month ago* (1 child) Oh, you know -- the usual shower of Twitter chuds saw the racially diverse cast and took the film as a cultural assault on Western civilization. They dismissed it as wokeslop before they had even seen it, and now that the movie is out and a critical success, they're beside themselves. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] Zephorah@discuss.online 4 points 1 month ago Oh whatever. I’ll watch it because, Odyssey. And if the flow/acting work, I won’t care who is cast. Dumb casting choices can be made. McLaughlin in Dune (way back), playing a teenager. Sean Young as anything other than a robot. David Duchovney trying to act out a past life in Xfiles. And so on. All of those are worth complaining about. These people focus on the wrong things. permalink fedilink source parent
