Is it regional or for VPN users or something? I still use old reddit when I need to from search results, and I don't get asked to log in.

I get asked to login to old.reddit if I set my VPN to USA, but not for the European countries I've tested.

It seems to be rolling out region by region I reckon. I'm in the south east Asia and I don't get asked to log in yet.
